Surgical Positioning Device
ProneVR

Our invention is a medical device that enables the use of VR in the prone, lateral, and other necessary but uncomfortable positions. The positioner consists of an adjustable face rest with a customizable tray to hold a VR headset, and an ergonomic chest pad. While there are many existing adjustable prone-positioners and many VR headsets specifically designed to be used in the seated or supine position, there are currently no prone positioning devices or face rests on the market that can accommodate a VR headset.

We presented the prototype at at UC Davis Little Bang Competition poster pitch competitions alongside 20 competitors from multiple Bay Area universities.
Our group was awarded $1000 People’s Choice Prize and $1000 Best Pitch Award
